Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune (DPU) began under the leadership of the great visionary, Dr. D Y Patil. It began with only one institution under its fold – Dr. D.Y.Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre. The Institute started as a centre of excellence with an emphasis on medical education and research. Gradually, the institute gained recognition as one of the best in the state and across the country. Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune is a private, non-profit, self-financing organisation, dedicated to serving society and making a difference.These 10 institutions of Dr. D. Y. Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, was accorded the status of University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, vide Notification No. F.9-39/2001-U.3 dated 11th January 2003 of the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary & Higher Education, New Delhi, and (ii) Notification No.F6-9/2003 (CPP-I) dated 24/01/2003 by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth’s Centre of online learning (COL) has been established keeping in mind the needs of the modern learning community and at the same time, equipping them with the requisite knowledge and skills that are demanded by the industry. While the other institutes of Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth are engaged in face-to-face education, the Centre of online learning is solely dedicated for imparting high-quality education through the Online learning blending traditional and modern teaching methodologies.

The Online Programme are carefully designed, in order to impart the necessary basic managerial and leadership skills and bridge the gap between the expectations of the industry and the actual attainment by the student. The curriculum has been designed by a selected panel of business professionals and prominent academicians and focuses extensively on business case studies and examples from the real world.
